D'addario NS Micro Soundhole Tuner Review
Useless not to have a Number chart like the Tunebot or Drumdial....😂😂😂
I'm a gear tech and not a drummer. I have great succes with the Evans Torque Key. It's brilliant and saves me a lot of time. I also have a digital TuneBot for fine tuning. I can't imagine going back to only using a regular drum key again.
This is the worst review I have ever seen on any product
I've never had much luck using this, it has so much promise but dosen't seem to deliver.
you made that amp sound bad-
And if you have new Tama lug bolts this torque key from Evans will not work.
This is such a theoretical view. Every drummer knows that each tension rod will tension differently in its lug, depending on differences in thread pitch, condition, roundness, and flatness of the hoop, not to mention the condition of the bearing edges and loads of other factors. So all you acheive with this gadget has nothing to do with the tension of the head at each lug. Gives you a misleading result at best, with zero help to your actual pitch contol. Do it by ear, and forget about rod tensions. Unless you just want to waste time, effort and money. It' a gadet you'll try once and quicky consign to the bottom of your "bits box". What I really want is a key that just fits snugly on the rod... Can't be that difficult, but after 40 years, I'm still looking!
I use this key in conjunction with a tune bot (or just my ear, lol). I check my batter heads daily with it because head tension and good consistent rebound are very important to me at the level that I play.
And what level is that what does that even mean 🤣
@@obad7633 a high level

I might get the 200 look the same as the one in the video. In the future a double bass pedal can be added?
I use a Dremel HSES-01 with Ahead ADKDB and works great for home use or on the road
hi and great video. i bought it too. But does he use the vibrations of the strings or does he have a microphone? i would not like to say in the noise of the room where I sound shattering because I pick up external noises. also, do you have to put it in the middle of the hole or can you put it on the side? Thank you
ok so i cannot figure out how this thing works and no videos are helping
Hi great video. Is this a rubber pad or a mesh pad. Kindly advice
rubber
such nonsense, every drummer knows that it doesn't work that way. unless you buy new screws every time you set it up! I'll do it by ear and finger feel! :-)
I could never figure out where zero was so I abandoned it for the classic method unless I needed it for quick tuning jobs ie live or rehearsal ( but a spare pedal and snare is a must) I also use the lowest torque setting on my power driver with a bit so tensions are all the same then back them off by hand/key. I dont think this torque key is meant to be the be all and end all but is to assist to speed the process to a level where fine tuning by hand/key and ear begins.
What’s the point if you have go back around with the stick to check the tension?
Damn what the hell is that crappy tone 👹
Whaaaaaaaattttttt.
these two mikes are quite different. the MD412 and the MD 421. this is a basic mistake
Thanks for these usefull details!
26£ fuck me on the wall!
Does this bass pad sensor support double pedal ?
Yes
Can I connect my double pedal to the kick pad?
Yes
hello , how i can put more sound like tabla or tamtam , and from where i can get this sound?
Good video! What would you say about the durability and quality? Also any views about the CS-D230? I am planning to buy the D230. Thanks!
With all due respect, that's NOT the right way to use the key. The snare sounds horrible and the purpose of the key is to make the job easier, not longer. If you use the tool correctly, you'll have better results... Anyone who wants an accurate review, check Drumeo's demo here: ua-cam.com/video/5tISyonzcxA/v-deo.html (That's the CORRECT way to tune a snare!)
what is the difference between the Blue Baby Bottle & Blue Baby Bottle SL?
Don’t waste you time with a baby bottle unless it was made in Latvia 🇱🇻.. that’s when Martin built them the owner. After sometime 2008 they were acquired by some CA transcom co and then sent to be revised in a worse way and assembled in China. Not the same at all..
Cant understand nothin’ from this video....
MD412 ???
Rosewood maple board you say ?????
I think it's mahogany neck,, rosewood FB
Yeah, the numbers really matter...
Desafinada. Chave de torque não afina peles! O pior de tudo não é gastar dinheiro à toa, é acreditar que a pele está afinada! Me admira um fabricante de peles não saber afinar um tambor...? É o fim dos tempos!
This is funny, came to hear MD412... But got the MD421 instead. Well...
At least we got to see shane enjoy himself just a little too much.
hi sir.. this unit is stereo?
most important part is sped up.....
Great video!
What's the weight?
What a fail of a video. I couldn't watch all of it. Please take this video off. Life is too short for this bad video.
1-that actually takes longer time 2-sometimes the screws are not 100% in tact so some screws would turn harder although they still haven't done much tension on the head. so it's definitely no recommendation unless you always have shiny new expensive drums to tune and you insist on not using your ears leaving you untrained for tuning drums which is a must learn skill for every drummer
i got new shiny drums that dont even have even feel in the lugs, even without a head installed, this evans drum key doesnt make sense at all i dont know why so many use this
1 its based off of tension 2 you can still use your ears and 3 hopefully you know many people use these without issue 😂im from 2 years in the future here to tell you they work fine its not a cheat code to tuning drums but they do what they advertise.
Do you use a VST here? I don't think the module has these tones?
Slowest video ever. Just get to the f*^king point
How have you got that set up to sound like that I'm struggling to make it sound like you have yours. What set up do you recommend to make it as close to an acoustic as possible.
so when i render my track i turn off the vst , right ? .. and what about when mixing on headphones , do i have to turn it off again , how do you think , i mean this EQ correction applies only for the listening through the studio monitors , tnx
and if your tensinon rods r not in beat condition, youll think the lug is tight, and the washer will still be freely moving.. the head tension is where readings need to be taken
Would of preferred you show the difference in tone from 1 to 9 incrementally with the torque settings . Still a proper good tool though I will definitely buy one .
Can I use this drums (just as a tool) to play (and record) live my different drum kits that are in my Korg workstation keyboard via midi, so I can have more "alive" drumming in my songs? I know I can select (dedicate) one channel at a time, so I can record for instance midi data of a snare on midi channel 1 for example, yet I want to "capture" the whole playing of the drums at once (all drums played at once), yet recording midi data on different chanels, so I can than make panning, eq, compression etc., separately, is this possible?
Dreadnought with cutaway, yikes
I haven't used one but here's my assessment. That is basically a miniature click type torque wrench that mechanics use on cars and they are highly calibrated. If you drop a torque wrench it falls out of calibration and is worthless unless you get it re-calibrated. The fact that you are jumping all over the lugs and readjusting them for tension and equal sound means that it is not cranking to the exact same tension on each one, which means it is not calibrated very well. And if you drop your tuning key, which most drummers do constantly, it will become further useless.
Maybe 8 pounds of torque at one end of the snare doesn't make the drum head sound the same as 8 pounds at the other end??? Maybe the drum heads don't work as the bolts of an engine do. Lol good point tho
I actually painted mine(just the exposed clip on the outside) that practically matches the guitar.
Such a useless piece of junk. You'll have to end up fine-tuning by ear at the end, which makes this piece of junk useless. Get a tune bot or iPhone tuning app.
